A litter of wirehaired dachshunds is born in Michigan

Congratulations to Kyle and Kelleen Edwards Stiffler from Michigan! Their Misty (Berta von der Pfauenbrucke) delivered 5 puppies last night, 3 girls and 2 boys. Misty's dam is Andy Bensing's Eibe von Merreche and her sire is Vincent von Velbert. The sire of the litter is FC Nurmi von Moosbach-Zuzelek aka Moose owned by Chuck Collier. All puppies are spoken for.

I am real excited about this litter. I had planned to keep Misty myself 3 years ago when I sold her to Kyle but at the time he was much more in need of the pup than I. Kyle had no intention of getting into breeding so it took the last 3 years to talk him into breeding her. Now I am getting the bitch puppy I wanted back then. I hope she lives up to her pedigree and my expectations. The purpose of the new pup will be to serve as a back-up blood tracking dog for her grandmother, my Eibe, but actually I am going to train her primarily for a new tracking endeavor I am getting into. Addi, as I plan on naming her, will be initially trained for tracking lost pets. A similar activity to blood tracking but with more emphasis on sign indication and pre-scenting.

By the way, all the pups are now spoken for.
