Anyway, our Keena (FC Keena v Moosbach-Zuzelek) is going to be bred tomorrow to FC Tom vom Linteler-Forst. Keena is almost seven years old, and this is going to be her last litter. She was examined by a vet few days ago, had her full blood panel done, and everything looks good. She was declared to be very healthy and got a green light from our vets for breeding.

Our FC Paika v Moosbach-Zuzelek, Keena's daughter, came in heat today and she will be bred to FC Nurmi v Moosbach-Zuzelek "Moose" again. This is going to be a repeated breeding of our S-litter. In 10 days John will be driving to Michigan, and I hope that the weather will cooperate as in winter the drive there is not going to be much fun.

Recently I spent some time on updating info on our main website, especially on Keena, Paika and Tommy. Click on the above links and you should get to the current information.
We stopped taking reservations for puppies some time ago as we have not had enough time to process the inquiries and questionnaires we received in the last three months. We might take more reservations when puppies are born.
Wish us luck!
How exciting! Then you have som work in front of you. Two litters at the same time. I will have a litter on Tyra end of this year. She will come in heat april/may and sell puppies aug/sep.
ReplyDeleteMajron,
ReplyDeleteOur females cycle together so we have no choice if we want more than one litter. We can only raise pups in spring and summer as fall and winter are out of question. So yes, it will be a lot of work, no doubt about it. We have done it before though.
What dog are you going to breed Tyra to?
I would really use the same male. But the swedish dachshund breeder organization recommend not to use same males. I only had 3 puppies. Trym had that defect on his head. I´m sure you read about it and saw pictures. He was operated may 2011. But the vet says its not hereditaried defect. One in a million that we got it. I will look for males. I want the samt type. dark, dark eyes, hunting champion, good results, social. THen I do control how the inbreeding % will be. We are not allowd to have over 2,5 %.
ReplyDeleteMajron,
ReplyDeleteGood to know. In Sweden is there a limit on how many litters a female can have and how many litters a stud dog can sire?
Yes there are. A stud dog is recommended to have 20 litters. But some owners dont care, they only think of making money and not whats good for the breeding advicees.
ReplyDeleteI mail you more about this.
